GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
At Costa Vida, we serve AMAZING. A Costa Vida District Manager is responsible for providing team leadership to ensure a high level of team performance for multiple corporate stores within a specific region. A successful District Manager will have a strong focus on assembling talented individuals and organizing those individuals into top performing teams. These teams will have goals to uphold and model health and safety behaviors that will build Costa Vida's business brand. The District Manager will be responsible for creating a store culture that inspires restaurant management and staff produce to uphold and consistently maintain high quality standards and professionalism. In addition, a successful District Manager communicates standards and expectations and holds accountable restaurant operators, assistant managers, and shift leads certain tasks to better manage restaurant operations. This position will be based in Washington but occasionally will need to travel to the Utah and Florida markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assumes the responsibilities for providing leadership to restaurant leadership and team members.
- Ensures that all operators and managers are trained, motivated and empowered to meet and exceed Costa Vida standards.
- Selects and uses training methods and procedures to teach policies, goals, objectives, and store procedures.
- Identifies talent to advance to the next level of employment.
- Monitors and assesses the performance of management staff and team members to make improvements take corrective action.
- Provides clarity to restaurant operators where opportunities and challenges lie and offers means of support for success.
- Delivers effective training and follow-up for new items, products programs and/or changes implemented.
- Assumes responsibilities for assembling winning teams of restaurant operators, assistant managers, shift leads, and team members.
- Determines staffing requirements and follows a consistent hiring process to interview, to hire, and to train restaurant operators, assistant general managers, and team members.
- Hires high quality restaurant operators who demonstrate a service-focused mentality and high level of productivity to ensure constant guest satisfaction.
- Evaluates performance of store management personnel and team members and approves salary updates, location changes, and employment status changes.
- Ensures staff is treated with dignity, respect and professionalism.
- Follows up store procedures, provides training, and coaching in any areas below brand standards.
- Builds relationships with employees, leading to repeat visits and therefore increased sales.
- Assumes responsibilities for upholding and modeling health and safety behaviors.
- Adheres to company standards.
- Maintains the quality assurance program and sees that standards are actively upheld within the restaurant.
- Coaches, trains, and acts on areas that present an opportunity for improvement. Ensure that the restaurant is neat, clean, safe and organized.
- Assumes responsibilities for communicate standards and expectations of Costa Vida store performance and work culture environment.
- Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Directs and coordinates districts' financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize efficiency.
- Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions coordinating with other restaurant operators and support center staff.
- Model and build the Costa Vida culture within store environment.

WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS
- Education/Certification: Associate's degree or 2 – year degree or bachelor's degree or Some college or Post-Secondary Certificate or Industry Experience.
- Required Knowledge: Functioning knowledge of computers including, but not limited to common email systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc. Bi-lingual skills a plus.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of restaurant experience.
- Skills/Abilities: Developing others, basic use of computer/software systems

- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
- Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage. Able to perform very simple algebra.
- Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
